This review by RvdHoeven doesn't specify if FdW ties either of them to any particular conditions (in the way Wrangham did in 'demonic males' with food competition*) but it is likely that the over 300 page book will have stats.
the reviewer hilites 2 peculiarly divergent ways politics happen (*or are they like eb and flow really? after a bloodletting of/by the wilder boys it's the turn of hi testosterone ladies to whisper council into ears of their choosing?):

In his 2001 essay, The Law of Accelerating Returns, Ray Kurzweil generalizes Moore's law, which describes an exponential growth pattern in the complexity of integrated semiconductor circuits, to include technologies from far before the integrated circuit to future forms of computation. He believes that the exponential growth of Moore's law will continue beyond the use of integrated circuits into technologies that will lead to the Singularity, which he defines as technological change so rapid and profound it represents a rupture in the fabric of human history. He declares that whenever a technology approaches some kind of a barrier, a new technology will be invented to cross that barrier. He predicts that such paradigm shifts will become more and more common as we approach the singularity.
To me, the concept of the Singularity as a "wall" implies a period of infinite change, that is, a mathematical Singularity. If there is a point in time at which change is infinite, then there is an inherent barrier in looking beyond this point in time. It becomes as impenetrable as the event horizon of a black hole in space, in which the density of matter and energy is infinite. The concept of the Singularity as a "surge," on the other hand, is compatible with the idea of exponential growth. It is the nature of an exponential function that it starts out slowly, then grows quite explosively as one passes what I call the "knee of the curve." From the surge perspective, the growth rate never becomes literally infinite, but it may appear that way from the limited perspective of someone who cannot follow such enormously rapid change.

------- here again the opposite is true, people become less shamefaced about burning up the past and to compensate pretend they are heaving heaps of future into the present ----- this language purports to legitimize but perverts X since it lends but alienates, it severs and abducts general principle, it tries to stage a model, extrapolate from a truth and do concentrated versions of the good stuff (never looking back) and putting their loot and very being to detrimental and counterproductive use (usury) for the very source they play surrogate/sighpost flagship (flogshop) and pointer to. When and as long as 'progressive' spirit dictates reality, rather than being unable to carry concepts of the future to term, we lose our past and the very ground (dare I mention ancestral ties?) that supports us at dizzying blurspeed (though the results, are of course the same .. which the likes of sd (( labouring under the illusion my kind burdens, and the sooner left behind them the better)) deny and will not accept). Something wonderful submitted to imperial display, refined to a formula fakery, a weaponsystem development with all the side benefits of awe struck crowd drawing spectacle. And it was ever thus. A hot naked philosopher has no practical consequences beyond underground fun like showing poppypuppetBush (and the cabal of cold calculators up his back) as a chimp.

The solution is pretty simple: wage war with sperm, shoot whomever you like with it (be prepared to get close enough to the prettiest and most evocative of dickteazers to make the simulation a success but not close enough to get personal).
